Essentials

ABOUT EACH OF THE PROGRAMS 

Cook & Connect:​ The program provides information on nutrition, health and budgeting while learning to cook in a safe environment.  Learn how to make delicious and nutritious meals from a variety of cultures. Each class we prepare, cook, and enjoy our meals together. 

Essentials: Our aim is to provide community members easy access to essential items including food and personal hygiene products. All of the following products are free such as; basic food, deodorants, shampoo/conditioners, body wash/soaps, toothbrush/toothpastes, mouth washes and sanitary items.

Hospitality Short Course / Café Skills: The course will run 2 days per week for  4 weeks.  Students will graduate with their RSA, RCG, BARISTA Coffee, Safe Food Handling as well as a Customer Service WH&S Certificate.  Information/Enrolment session will be held on the Tuesday 28th, 9:30 -2:30pm. Please Contact BACC to secure a spot. 

Pop Up Youth Space: A safe place created specifically for young people to hang out, participate in discussions and activities and receive information and referral.

Youth Matters @ Doonside: This is a youth group for young people 12 –16. We aim to help build personal resilience and promote mental well –being in young men and women. The program is designed to encourage responsibility, leadership, team building and problem solving. Activities will include art workshops, learning to cook healthy meals, DIY activities, motivational talks and guest speakers, covering topics such as Healthy relationships, mental health, communication, nutrition and fitness and safe sex. The program is also a place for young people to explore their strengths, form friendships, and most importantly have fun in a safe and welcoming environment.

Youth Matters @ Marayong House: This is a youth group for young people 16 years and over. We aim to help build personal resilience, promote mental well–being in young men and women. The program is designed to encourage responsibility, leadership, team building and problem solving skills. Workshops and guest speakers will be available to young people to assist in meeting future aspirations and pathways to education and employment. The program is also a place for young people to explore their strengths, form friendships, and most importantly have fun in a safe and welcoming environment via activities such as; sport, learning to cook healthy meals, DIY activities, and motivational talks.  

           *Please note that all BACC Youth Programs are inclusive of trans and nonbinary young people.
