ABOUT EACH OF THE PROGRAMS
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA): A safe and confidential support group for people with an addiction includes AA, GA, NA etc. Free |
Baby Rhyme Time: Enjoy songs, finger plays and rhymes with your 0-5 year old while developing their language and pre-reading skills. Meet other mums, dads, grandparents & caregivers in these fun and interactive sessions. Free |
BLISS (Blacktown Lesbian Information and Social Support): A social support group providing social activities and information to Lesbian, Bi-sexual and Same Sex Attracted Women. Free |
Doonside Gardens: Come along and help us create our very own community garden. Free |
Indigenous Space: A fun, friendly, informal group open to all who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Enjoy afternoon tea, play bingo, win prizes, meet new people, gain information, support, appropriate referrals, take part in activities, workshops and information sessions. All community members welcome. Free |
Indigenous Supported Playgroup: Provides a structured and positive learning environment in which 0-5 year-olds can socialise, play and learn. It’s a great way for parents/carers to meet and share experiences while they engage with their children using a variety of fun and educational activities. The group is facilitated by BACC staff who are also available to provide advice and information on parenting issues and referrals to appropriate services where needed. Free |
Kids Club: After-school games and activities (such as gardening, cooking, sports) with an emphasis on tasks of daily living and communication skills for primary school-aged kids. Free |
Kids Meditation & Yoga: A yoga and meditation class for primary school aged kids designed to increase their mental health and provide a reprieve from outside stressors. Free |
Koori Outreach: An opportunity for Indigenous community members to have a yarn and enjoy morning tea with representatives from Housing NSW, Centrelink, Wentworth Community Housing, Ngallu Wal Aboriginal Child and Family Centre, Blacktown Mental Health, and many more. Free |
Mura Mittigar: Community Finance provides an outreach financial counselling service including financial support via the No Interest Loans Scheme. This will enable families to purchase essential goods and services including: education costs, health items, vehicle repairs, registration and household furniture and white goods. |
